Woodhouse producers awarded the export deed title

Estonian woodhouse producers, having grown their export volumes significantly and expanded to new markets, were awarded the title of export deed of the year by KredEx Krediidikindlustus.

Today Meelis Tambla, Chairman of the Management Board of AS KredEx Krediidikindlustus, presented the award to Sven Mats, Chairman of the Management Board of the Estonian Woodhouse Association. This year KredEx Krediidikindlustus decided to award the export deed of the year title not to a single company but a whole business sector. “Export of woodhouses made in Estonia has been very successful and has developed into a rapidly growing business sector. As for export sales, Estonia is the largest woodhouse producer in Europe. We awarded the export deed title to the woodhouse producers to recognise their operations so far and encourage them in setting new goals”, said Tambla when presenting the award.

According to Sven Mats, Chairman of the Management Board of the Estonian Woodhouse Association, woodhouse producers value the recognition given to them highly. “We are happy to see that our efforts have been noticed and recognised. I believe that there is reason to consider the sector to be one of Estonia’s “business cards”. Almost 85% of the total sales of woodhouses in Estonia is for export and most of the companies provide regional employment in production units located all over Estonia. In addition to the national capital, the sector is also relevant as a provider of employment in rural areas. This recognition inspires us to set new goals,” said Mats.

AS KredEx Krediidikindlustus has been giving out the “Export deed of the year” award since 2014. KredEx Krediidikindlustus uses the “Export deed of the year” award to recognise Estonian businesses or business sectors which are able to maintain and grow their exports volumes and have been successful in finding new markets. Last year the “Export deed of the year” award was given to AS E-Piim.
