Survey: undertakings expect an increase in export volumes in the coming years

The survey conducted by AS KredEx Krediidikindlustus among Estonian companies engaged in exporting has shown that the undertakings expect export volumes to increase notably in the coming years.

A total of 42% of the undertakings that participated in the survey believed that their export volumes will increase by up to one quarter in the near future, and 24% of respondents found that their export volumes will increase by more than a quarter. A total of 32% of the respondents believed that export volumes in the coming years will remain at the same level as the current year. Only 2% of respondents believed that the export volumes in coming years will decrease compared to the current year.

According to Member of the Management Board of KredEx Krediidikindlustus Mariko Rukholm, the results of the survey reveal that, despite the instability prevailing in the global economy, the Estonian undertakings have positive expectations towards the future. “The increased certainty felt by the undertakings towards the future is also demonstrated by their increased interest in using credit insurance, since they are seeking new markets, new sales channels and business partners,” Rukholm added.

In addition, the survey inquired from the undertakings about the number of countries they are exporting their goods or services to. A total of 61% of respondents are exporting their goods and services to 2-5 countries; 21% to 10 or more countries; 15% to 6- 10 countries; and 3% to only a single country.

KredEx Krediidikindlustus conducted the survey among exporting companies in Q2 2015.
